Conservation Education

NCAA provides conservation education to the communities inside and adjacent to NCA and ensures that people understand, engage and participate in the conservation of natural and cultural resources found within and around the area.

Awareness involves knowledge on:

Types of tree species, their specific importance, preparation and tree transplanting. Climate change consequences, the significance of preserving a green environment through regular tree planting and restoration, as well as effective water supply management.

Invasive plant species and their impacts on agricultural activities, livestock and conservation. Environmental Education includes types of pollution and their impacts to the environment and animals.

Mitigation of Human-Wildlife Conflict

Community Involvement and Engagement

Community engagement within and adjacent to NCA is one of the strategic approaches to solicit for community support for natural resources conservation.

This particular conservation method is implemented in a participatory manner through various community and social groups such as environmental clubs like Malihai, organized study tours – from primary to high education institutes, sports and bonanzas, capacity building for the communities, rangeland management and monitoring.  Activities are done on a monthly basis.
