NCAA would like to inform the public that a beneficial intervention was carried out in Ngorongoro crater on October 22, 2018 during which a black rhino calf was rescued from an attack by a pride of lions which was about to kill it. Tour drivers who were conducting game drives used their vehicles to chase away the attacking lions. Our rangers arrived on time and took away the young rhino to a safe place. Animal in the wild are subject to an enormous variety of threats including predation

We would like to emphasize that while our conservation policy does not advocate for any interference with nature, but when it come to extremely endangered wildlife species that are faced with extinction, actions have to be taken.

Lastly, we would like to congratulate all tour drivers and everyone involved in the rescue operation for their heroic action which is now the reason for our celebration.
