What To See

Water Reservoir During Dry Season

Olkarien Gorge

A dramatic cliff of this narrow gorge in the Gol Mountains is the nesting site for hundreds of the Ruppell’s griffon vulture which breed here during March-April when food is abundant on the plains. In the dry season, the Maasai bring their cattle into the gorge to drink. It’s a very worthwhile site to visit and watch the vultures soaring, circling and gliding down to their nests!
